D.I.Y ?
Before you opt to calling a pressure washing specialist for your exterior cleaning needs, there may be a lot of questions on your mind. For example,
why should you spend your hard earned money on a professional when you could do it yourself with a department store pressure washer?
A lot of homeowners will ask this question and rightly so! It’s your money after all. Let’s say you’ve already visited a store and seen a pressure washer on sale thinking
it will save you money to buy one and do the job yourself whenever the time arises. What many consumers don’t realise is that these pressure washers are designed
for cleaning your car, which has delicate paintwork. How can such a pressure washer designed specifically for this use take years of foot traffic off of stone,
or provide a thorough clean on your patio? Pressure washer power is rated on two key factors, “Flow rate” and “PSI” (pounds per square inch).
A high Flow rate and low PSI will be like a garden tap, whilst a high pressure and low Flow rate will be like blowing fluid through a straw
(lots of force but not very much coming out!). The flow rate and PSI have to be matched for the machine to clean properly.
Most store bought pressure washers will have a mediocre PSI and an even worse flow rate, which could leave your patio streaky and still dirty. As well as this,
pressure washing is also a very messy job as I’m sure many of you will discover: after one hour of cleaning, you’ve only covered about one tenth of the area
you’re working on, and you’re already covered head to toe in years of grime that’s been embedded in your garden! D.I.Y? Or just do yourself a favor
and call the professionals at CleanWay Northwest.
